Welcome to The Medical Centre

With patients' needs at the heart of everything we do, our website has been designed to make it easy for you to gain instant access to the information you need. As well as specific practice details such as opening hours and how to register, you’ll find a wealth of useful pages covering a wide range of health issues along with links to other relevant medical organisations.

Due to COVID-19 restrictions, we are only allowing entry to the building if you have an appointment or prior arrangement has been made.

As a practice, we already provide a telephone triage service for advice or appointment requests.  We also use video consultations  to enable GPs to have face to face consultations with patients. The online triage service available via a service called AccuRx.

However, patients will be seen in the practice if necessary.  All Clinical staff wear full PPE when seeing patients.

Practice Nurse, appointments are available.

For prescriptions, please continue ordering them via your chosen pharmacy, the surgery email SHECCG.TheMedicalCentre@nhs.net or use the online service or place your paper requests in the letter box situated outside the main building.

Prescriptions will be sent electronically where possible to a pharmacy of your choice. This is to minimise transfer of paper.  It is important that you contact the reception team to either set up or change a nominated pharmacy.

On arrival please ring the door bell positioned on the left hand side of the main door, step back  and wait for a member of the reception team.   Please bear with staff as they may be busy and not able to answer the door immediately.  It is important that you use the hand sanitiser when entering and leaving the building and make sure your face mask is fitted correctly and securely.

We thank you for your ongoing co-operation during this difficult time and please be sensible, follow government guidance and stay safe.

Longley Lane vaccination site – Information

If you have received a letter from the national booking system about a vaccination appointment and have any questions about this, please contact the number on the letter. The practice does not have any information on the centres and is not able to book appointments for patients at these venues.

If you would prefer to have your appointment at our local service, you do not need to do anything – we will contact you as soon as an appointment is available.

Vaccination Invitation Letters from the National Booking System

If you are aged (75) or over, and have not yet had a vaccination, you may get a letter from the NHS national booking system inviting you to make an appointment at a large scale centre like Sheffield Arena.

These are being sent to people who live within 45 minutes of one of the centres that has been opened, which might be in a different area to where you would normally receive your healthcare.

Please note that you do not have to book an appointment at one of these centres if it is not convenient for you to get there. You can choose to wait for an invitation from your local GP practice. Please do not contact your local practice about an appointment until you receive an invitation from them.
